Empowering Through Adventure

Wild Faith Outdoors Inc is a Virginia-based nonprofit providing adventure and recreational therapy for transitioning service members, veterans, young adults, and children that may benefit from exposure to the outdoors, adventure, faith, and fellowship.

Our goal is to foster an atmosphere of healing through comradery, ministry, and connecting those we partner with to a network of support and resources.

MISSION

Our mission is to help a veteran find a way forward that makes sense. Help a transitioning service member to prepare for what is ahead. Give a struggling teen a big brother, or a child someone to turn to and learn from.

We can do this through healthy, therapeutic outlets like adventure and recreational sports, while promoting growth and healing through faith, mentorship, resource mapping, and community.

Creating fly fisherman is not just about fishing. It is about creating stewards of the land and conservationists of the passion. It is about opening a door to nature, adventure, exploration, and instilling a sense of ownership for the sport, the waterways and ecosystems it depends on, and the fish and wildlife it pursues.

This program aims to do just that. We want to open a door to those that are lost. A door to a world that was previously unknown to them. An outlet that can heal. An adventure that can give them direction and instill a new passion for life and the world we live in.

Project Tight Lines aims to utilize a network of organizations to identify candidates that could benefit from the program. Through grants, partnerships, and donations, we would like to provide those candidates with gear, instruction, knowledge, and the opportunity to practice the sport and learn how beneficial it can be.

We believe investing in the soul of the person is the best way to ensure the soul of the sport.

WILD FAITH

Wild River

I am prior Marine with a heart for helping transitioning service members and veterans find a path to stability, community, and faith. I struggled with this myself when I separated from the Corps.

My relationship with Christ and the outlets he led me to are what saved me.

Through that relationship, God led me to college, eventually a Masters degree, and later professional certifications. He uncovered potential within me that highlighted a career path that fed my passions. He sent me on a journey of self discovery into the wild that revealed a love for fly fishing, hunting, backpacking, exploring... all of which served to strengthen my understanding of  who I am and the right path ahead.

These are the outlets and tools I want to bring to others that need them. Not just veterans, but children, teens, or even Christian men that need to find their heart... and have a wild enough faith to follow it.
